The Black Pearl

Last night I headed to New Brighton situated on the north point of the mersey. Knowing it was low tide when I arrived I had the 12mm f/2.0, 25mm _OMD0141_OMD0141 f/1.8 and the OM-D E-M5 to hand and was looking forward to the evening ahead. Having set off from St James's Street station I took the short train journey up under the Mersey and up to New Brighton. Heading down to the beach I bumped into a real Gent, Major. He explained how he scoured the beach in search for drift wood which he has used to build "The Black Pearl", a life size pirate ship that is open to all and constructed on the shoreline of the Mersey. Major continued to tell me how his work now attracts hundreds of children to the shores of the mersey leaving beautiful poems on and around the ship.

I have included a lot of photos in this blog as I captured too many during my short session which deserve a mention. By now those who read my blogs know that I like to use the features available in the OM-D. A majority of the images were captured in manual mode and during the session I used a mixture of aspect ratio, contrast, sharpness and art filter settings to try and create something a little unique. For those of you that haven't explored all these features, take the time to do so and hopefully from the images I have shared you will see that you can capture what you want in camera with minimal need for post processing.
