Why I love the Oly 45mm

April 20, 2013  •  1 Comment

The sun was shining and the birds were singing so my family and I decided to head towards the local golf club to hit a few balls. With the OM-D and the 45mm attached we were all sure to have a little fun. I know that this lens has been talked about for some time now but for anyone that hasn't invested in it, stop now and buy it.

At it's retail price the Olympus 45mm has to be the best lens for it's money by a long shot. I have used it for studio work, life style portraiture and street work. Having a bright f/1.8 aperture it creates beautiful bokeh and is extremely sharp. The images below were captured whilst walking around the course mainly shooting one handed as I gave my son encouragement (thank god I don't shoot with a DSLR anymore and thank god for the OM-D's IBIS).

Great shots James... I also love this lens and also love mounting it on the OM-D when heading out to hit some golf balls with my son. It is so easy to slip in and out of the pocket and really is the perfect focal length for getting sufficiently close shots without standing too close or too far from...

My 7 year old son loves playing golf, and fortunately I love taking pictures, because I am not much of a golfer myself.
